As a creative engineer, I enjoy tinkering—designing all kinds of cool, weird, and complex creations.
I primarily design using various CAD programs. Beyond mechanical work, I also delve into electronics using Arduino and ESP32 boards, programming and integrating them into innovative projects.
With 15 years of experience as a mechanical engineer, I've used many CAD software tools. My current favorite is FreeCAD, which includes CAM and FEM capabilities and is parametric.
It still has some stability issues that need to be addressed before it becomes mainstream, but it's great for small projects.
I've also worked extensively with SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Fusion 360, Inventor, and AutoCAD—ranging from Pro/E to AutoCAD, from Teamcenter to SolidWorks PDM, covering CAM, FEM, and motion analysis.
For more organic designs or high-quality renders, I turn to Blender 3D.
